- 1” cube ginger, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 drops hot chili sesame oil
Garnish:
- Chopped cilantro
- Sliced green onion

Instructions
- Prepare Filling:
Heat sesame oil in a sauté pan over medium heat. Add carrots, cabbage, mushrooms, salt, and pepper. Cook for 6–8 minutes until the liquid evaporates. Stir in green onion, garlic, ginger, and soy sauce. Cook for 1 additional minute. Cool the filling in the fridge for 10 minutes. - Make Dipping Sauce:
Combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and chili sesame oil in a bowl. Mix and set aside. - Assemble Dumplings:
Wet the edges of a dumpling wrapper. Add 1 tablespoon of filling to the center. Fold into a half-moon shape and press the edges to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling. - Cook Dumplings:
Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Cook dumplings in batches until golden brown on the bottom (about 2 minutes). Add ¼ cup water, cover, and steam for 2–4 minutes until the water evaporates. Remove the lid and allow dumplings to crisp again. - Serve:
Garnish with cilantro, green onion, and sesame seeds. Serve hot with dipping sauce.
Tips for Perfect Dumplings
- Prevent Wrappers from Drying Out: Cover with a clean kitchen towel while assembling.
- Shape Doesn’t Matter: Focus on flavor, not perfection! Dumplings can be half-moon or pyramid-shaped.
- Freezing: Freeze uncooked dumplings on a baking sheet for 30 minutes, then transfer to an airtight container. Cook directly from frozen, adding 1–2 extra minutes.
